Science Strand: What We've Learned About Assessment Practice in the Sciences

DESCRIPTION

What methods of assessment and what information are we discovering about
student learning in science? Does learning in science differ from other
disciplines?
Why do students always report that hands-on learning and field trips have been
their most useful learning experiences? How do you assess this type of learning?
This panel of science faculty will discuss methods and data from their classes
and programs, explaining how they have used the data to close the loop, and to
improve teaching and student learning. Come prepared to ask questions and
discuss assessment as it uniquely applies to science courses.
